Say hello to Alyssa + Jake! They were our first wedding of 2022 and wow did they set the tone for the year! Their wedding day was stunning + intimate. They were surrounded by their very closest people. We loved their minimalist aesthetic with the pops of dusty blue accents. We’re so grateful that we got to be a part of celebrating them on their BEST DAY EVER!
“Jake & I met each other at the gym a few years ago. Although we had only exchanged a few words here and there at the gym, he decided it was a good idea to ask me on a date at the end of my workout. His exact words were "Hey, you wanna go play some disc golf". I quickly made an excuse that I had to go get food. Instead of taking my subtle hint, he decided he would come with me to get food; and hopped right in my vehicle. Of course I didn't actually plan on actually getting food, I had planned to go to my grandparents, so with Jake in the vehicle, that's where I drove to. I assumed after meeting my grandparents and hanging out there to "get food", that Jake would then change his mind about playing disc golf; but instead he chatted with my family, made light of the situation and STILL wanted to go play disc golf. Finally we were at Quaker Hill playing disc golf. It's basically a giant blur to me, I was heavily embarrassed due to my lack of skill at the game. However, the one thing I do remember is Jake cracking jokes and intentionally not trying; so that I didn't feel so bad. After finishing the game we went out for dinner. I AM A FAST EATER, I tried my hardest to eat as slow as possible and yet I still finished well before Jake, I was hoping he wouldn't notice. He did of course and had to comment about it. That was how our fist date went, and from there we began hiking together, traveling together, and so on. Leading us to where we are today. That's our story.”
We know that there are so many beautiful venues across the DFW area, so when couples choose to have their wedding day at E, we don’t take it for granted! We love to hear what drew them to us! A + J were drawn to The Emerson for it’s modern, yet timeless appeal!
From start to end, wedding days carry so many special moments! We love hearing which ones stuck out the most. A said, “Our whole day went so perfectly it’s hard to single out one moment. One of the most memorable parts was our exit, having our family and friends lined up with us one last time to celebrate was a great feeling.”
“As far as advice goes, just go with it. Don’t overthink every detail, you most definitely forgot stuff and that’s okay. Everyone will have a comment about what they did and didn’t like, and that’s okay; just go with it. The day is not about everyone else, its about the union of you and your partner.”
